One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that things happen as and when they are supposed to, even when at the time it feels like everything is going wrong and nothing is going according to my own plans.
As the saying by Garth Brooks goes, “Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.”
It all comes down to trust; Trust that God, the Universe, Source, (you can put in any name that resonates for you) knows what’s better for you than you do.
We are God’s children and just like a parent/child relationship in human form, parents do whatever they need to do to protect their children, even if that means not giving children what they want.
Imagine a 3 year old wanting to play with a knife. Of course a parent won’t allow it. And despite the tantrum a child may throw when not getting what they want, the parent won’t give in when it comes to preserving their child’s safety and well-being.
I believe God works in exactly the same way. We want that job. We want that relationship. We want something to happen and in the exact way we want it to happen. But it doesn’t happen.
At the time, we question all that we know about manifesting. We question the effectiveness of our prayers. Did we pray the right words? Did we pray at the right time? Did we pray enough? Did we not get the formula right?
At some point in the future, if we are conscious enough, we’ll be able to look back on that dream or goal that was withheld from us because it enabled something even bigger and better to come our way.
I’m sure there have been times when you’ve looked back on events and said to yourself: “Thank God I didn’t get that job, or didn’t get into that relationship.” I know I have.
So if you are going through something right now that feels like you’ve been forgotten or unheard because you aren’t seeing the results that you want, just the way you want, don’t worry. The Divine has your back. The Divine has your best interests in mind and in play.
So, you may then wonder if you should even bother offering up your prayers or setting lofty goals. Won’t God just ignore what you want and just decide for you?
Of course not. As a parent, don’t you want your kids to ask for things? Don’t you want to bless them and make them happy? Of course you do! But what you won’t do is give them what they desire if you know it’s going to hurt them in some way. You also won’t give in to short-term gratification if that means that you will be robbing your child of greater outcomes in the longer term.
If what you want aligns with what is the very best for you, you can bet that the Divine will pave the way and manifest exactly what you desire.
Trust the Divine to hear your heart’s desires and to bless you with those desires. Or – and this is where real trust comes in – to bless you with something even better.
