Have you ever re-read a book or re-watched a movie only to be surprised to see something for the first time? It was always there, but for some reason, that piece that was previously obscured from your consciousness, suddenly jumps out at you and you really connect with it.
I had that experience over this summer break when I was re-reading Paulo Coelho’s, The Alchemist. In fact, this time around, it was the introduction that jumped out of the pages and the message struck me right between the eyes, so to speak.
In the introduction, Paul Coelho talks about the four obstacles we create that keep us from realising our dreams. And rather than summarising them here for you and risk diluting the power of the message, I thought I would do something different. I would read out a few of the relevant passages from the book.
If you haven’t yet read the book, I can only recommend that you do. There are so many deep and meaningful messages woven through the story that I hope touch you, and awaken you, as they do me upon each and every re-reading.
