There’s a reason why your eyes are positioned at the front of your face. We are designed to keep looking and moving forward. Yet, many of us spend so much of our time in looking back.
Looking back wistfully into the past keeps us from the joys we could be experiencing now.
Looking back with resentment or regret keeps us stewing in toxic emotions over events that no longer exist.
Looking back to analyse why things happened the way they did keeps us stuck in looking for the lesson but keeps us from applying that learning to our lives right now.
The past has passed.
The future isn’t here yet.
What we have is this present moment.
Forget about what lies behind. Use your eyes to see where you are right now. Then lift up your chin and take those steps forward.
